In Addition to Energy Efficiency, Those of Us in the South are Pleased to See that Our President Enjoys Southern Cooking

Whether looking for solar or wind alternatives, President Barack Obama has taken up the cause of energy --- and is taking it seriously.  We have heard lip service for years, but for the first time we have seen a president take a real first step to combat climate change and to offer the American people incentives to become energy conscious.

This is a blessing for our earth and our country.  When we are in an era that is being impacted by global warming across the universe and suffering from massive job losses across our country, President Obama has combined his efforts into one package:  Energy Efficiency and Jobs!

Of course this is a first step.  But, if we stay on his heels and make our voices heard in the Capitol, we can all benefit from the new direction our country is taking.

As we have seen in recent months, we have begun exporting more of our energy jobs --- building solar panels, etc. --- to China and other countries.  While we may never recover the jobs that have gone, we have the opportunity to create new jobs that will impact all of us.

That's the real beauty of energy efficiency and alternative energy sources.  As more and more of us become involved in "going green" the cost for all of us will come down and more jobs will be created.

AUDIENCE MEMBER:  Fired up!

THE PRESIDENT:  I'm still fired up, but we've been getting a lot of snow in Washington, D.C., so I was looking forward to [click to continue…]
