We have been working on a few projects in our neighborhood using the plans advertised on our home page. First of all, most of us doing the building are between 16 years old and 18 years old. Our older friends have assisted us, but most of the work has been done by us.
We have converted greenhouses, workshops, and a neighbor's art studio to solar. One of the couples who are a part of this project also have a log cabin that we use to plan our projects. It is now run by solar power. This couple had a 45% decrease in their electric bill this month. To read about our projects, please visit Maya's Gratitude Journal.
Most of us are teenagers who have really enjoyed working with neighborhood adults to convert their out buildings to solar. We also work with Happy and J.D. to learn about growing a garden for food for our families. One neighbor gave us permission to use a plot of land in another community to develop a community garden for an underprivileged neighborhood.
Maya keeps a chronicle of everything we do in her Gratitude Journal. It's really fun to see how she describes our projects.
Most importantly for us, it is fun to take part in community projects that benefits us and the community.
If you are considering going green and need to save on power bills, please visit our home page and click on the link to the energy plans we used. The plans are inexpensive and easy to use. We can save our planet by going green. You can start small and add on over time.
Please visit Happy's website Eating the Backyard. We are growing our own fruits and vegetables. We are using solar power for the greenhouses and other buildings. We are having fun, saving money, eating healthy, and doing what we can to save the planet.
Go Green!
